Chicago Chamber Music Festival- Concerto Competition
July 29, 2017 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm CDT
A select group of CCMF participants compete for the chance to perform solo works with the Northeastern Illinois University Orchestra during the 2017 Fall semester. This competition is open to the public.
Chicago Chamber Music Festival (CCMF) is a one-week summer immersion program for talented young musicians. CCMF participation gives young musicians an intensive experience that develops both their solo and chamber music playing. The superb faculty works closely with each student during the week on developing technical skills, deepening artistry and honing their performance abilities, in a non-competitive and supportive environment. Every festival participant also becomes an extension of Northeastern Illinois University with invitations to future opportunities and resources throughout the year.
At CCMF students:
- Work on solo repertoire with experienced and passionate college faculty.
- Collaborate with like-minded peers in chamber music.
- Participate in masterclass with internationally renowned musicians.
- Perform in recitals featuring solo and chamber repertoire.
- Compete in the concerto competition for an opportunity to perform with Northeastern Illinois University Orchestra.
- Make new friendships, foster camaraderie, and take advantage of Chicago’s exciting summer life, attending concerts with world-class artists and ensembles in places like the Ravinia Music Festival, and the Grant Park Symphony at Millenium Park, or the local jazz and blues scene.
