Campus Recreation has several classic and new amenities available to students and community members this Spring 2024 semester in the P.E. Complex. Some of them recur on a weekly or monthly basis while others are only one-time occurrences.

Three group fitness classes are happening weekly up through May 3rd, 2024: strength and conditioning, zumba and dynamic stretch. These group fitness classes are on a walk-in basis and do not require prior registration.  All group fitness classes are open to both students and community members. The pool continues to be closed for the Spring 2024 semester. Both men’s and women’s locker rooms have steam rooms available for both students and community members to enjoy. Campus Recreation is hosting a bicycle maintenance workshop on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the auxiliary gymnasium. They will help students adjust brakes, replace the bike tubes and tires and patch tire holes.

Campus Recreation is also hosting a myriad of activities on Campus Rec Day in the gyms, which falls on Feb. 22, 2024 from 12 pm to 3 pm. The activities of Campus Rec Day include karaoke, zumba, indoor soccer, basketball, volleyball, pickleball, wall climbing and E-games. There will be free food, raffles and prizes.

Students get up to five free personal training sessions per semester, while community members must pay $100 for five personal training sessions.

Campus Recreation is offering NEIU Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Clubs, and students must inquire within for more details. NEIU Men’s Basketball Club will be playing against East-West University, Loyola University, Olive-Harvey College and DePaul University. Club participation is only open to students, but spectators can be both students and community members.

The outdoor adventure program has returned with their high ropes obstacle course on the last Monday and Wednesday of every month from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., while the open wall climbs are offered every Monday and Wednesday. The outdoor adventure program is open to all students and community members.
