BREAKING: NEIU Faculty Assembly Delivers Vote of No-Confidence in President Gibson’s Leadership

With 253 votes counted, 224 (89%) of the Faculty Assembly indicated that they do not have confidence in President Gloria J. Gibson. Only 29 faculty members voted that they do have confidence, a resounding rebuke of the president’s performance thus far. Turnout for the vote was 49%, with 253 of the 515 member Faculty Assembly voting.

 

The Faculty Assembly has yet to hold its confidence vote for the Board of Trustees. They will wait two weeks to give the board time to respond to the Faculty Assembly’s vote on the President. Ballots for the vote of confidence in the Board of Trustees will be open from Monday, Nov. 28 until Monday, Dec. 5. 

 

The Board of Trustees will be meeting on November 17 at 1:00 pm in Donn F. Bailey Legacy Hall at the Carruthers Center for Inner City Studies (CCICS), at the same time as Eagle Fest at the Main Campus.
