Artist’s Comments About the Piece: While the Illinois General Assembly likes to portray itself as progressive, the reality is that they still refuse to dismantle the system of mass incarceration that they created and which continues to kill thousands of people and destroys families. Artist’s Description of Himself: I am an activist artist in the sense that I almost solely produce art as an act of resistance or in support of some cause.
