The music, lighting and, of course, the works of Frida Kahlo displayed across the interior of The Lighthouse allow the visitor to, well, be immersed in the life of Frida.  Immersive Frida Kahlo is the 360 degree immersive art experience that uses state-of-the-art technology and invites you to step inside the world of Frida Kahlo as it comes to life around you.  The Lighthouse is the perfect venue for this display.  The viewer is transported into the life of Frida Kahlo, her visionary art, her painful accident, the rich history of her ancestors and even her life as a young child. You travel the road of her life along with her.  As some of her most famous works are displayed, you become part of them.  All around you, and swimming past, you are swept away to her world, to another time and place. Bright colors, thought provoking art and the perfect soundtrack surround you and bring you into contact with the person, not just the art. You feel her love for Diego Rivera and can trace  just what she saw in him — the greatest love of her life.

During Kahlo’s lifetime she received some recognition for her artistic abilities. However, her husband Diego Rivera, the muralist, received most of the attention. But it is in death that Frida has surpassed her husband and become known for her self portraits, the interpretation of the pain she lived through and the vibrant rich life she led.

Kahlo’s work can be seen in this medium of visual and sensory art at the Lighthouse ArtSpace Chicago  Immersive, located at 108 W Germania Place, and is right across from the Chicago History Museum. You can purchase tickets online and check for days and times that are available by going to https://www.immersive-frida.com/chicago/buy-tickets-chicago.
