SCC Review and Revision Committee

Peter Enger, Staff writer

The newly created Student Rights and Responsibilities Office is currently engaged in a Policy-creating process to rewrite NEIU’s Student Code of Conduct. Director Sharron Evans is heading up the “Student Code of Conduct Review and Revision Committee”, which consists of 16 members. The membership includes Faculty, students, members of the Policy Working Group (PWG) and Dr. Roberto Sanabria, University Ethics Officer. The proposals being considered will include an expansion of the powers and authority of the Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities, including powers to immediately “sanction” students, authority to declare students “persona non grata”, powers to perform “involuntary student withdrawal” and a specific Code of Conduct for Student Organizations.
