Falling In Reverse guitarist Derek Jones dead at age 35

Falling In Reverse guitarist Derek Jones died at age 35. Fellow Falling In Reverse founding member vocalist Ronnie Radke confirmed the news via Instagram.

I’ll never forget when you picked me up from jail In Your old tour van to start falling in reverse,” wrote Radke. “Your spirit will be interwoven through the music I write forever. Rest In Peace Derek Jones. My heart is broken.”

Between 2007 and 2010, Jones played in A Smile From The Trenches, a band best-known for their single “Hot N Cold” and their cover of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance.” Between 2008 and 2010, the Fountain Valley, Calif., native played in both Falling In Reverse and A Smile From The Trenches before moving to Las Vegas to fully commit to Falling In Reverse.

Last November, Jones lost his fiance Christina Cetta to cancer. Falling In Reverse set up a GoFundMe campaign to assist financing alternative treatment available outside of the United States. The band provided limited edition shirts to individuals who donated.

An avid video game enthusiast and lover of Taco Bell, Jones rose to fame following Falling In Reverse’s debut album The Drug In Me Is You, which peaked at No. 19 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Jones and Radke were the only two remaining original members of Falling In Reverse. Jones performed his final show on March 3 in Sacramento.
